Are you ready to step away from the city hustle and into a real-life fairytale?
Our Private Half-Day Tour from Lisbon is your exclusive pass to Sintra, a UNESCO World Heritage site where romance, history, and breathtaking nature collide. This isn’t just a sight-seeing trip; it’s an immersive journey designed for the curious traveler who wants to truly explore the magic and mystery hidden just a short drive from the capital.
Forget the crowded buses—this private escape lets you delve deep into the wonders of the Portuguese coastline and mountains at your own pace.
Our journey begins by arriving in the enchanting Sintra Village. Nestled within a lush Natural Park, this village was the preferred summer retreat for Portuguese royalty and nobility. Imagine grand mansions and intricate castles dotted among the hills! Due to its exceptional natural beauty and unique microclimate, Sintra holds a special, atmospheric charm that draws explorers from all corners of the globe. Take a moment to soak in the air of romance and history that permeates every winding street.
Rising from the highest peaks of the Sintra Mountains is the unforgettable Pena Palace. This isn't your average historical building; it’s an architectural fantasy. Built in the 19th century, King Consort Ferdinand II transformed the ruins of an old monastery into one of Europe's most eclectic and vibrant palaces.
Walk through a stunning blend of Gothic, Egyptian, Moorish, and Renaissance elements. Outside, the surrounding park is just as marvelous—a testament to Ferdinand's passion for horticulture, filled with exotic tree species imported from around the world. It truly feels like stepping inside a colorful, historical dream.
Leaving the fairytale forests, we traverse the stunning Sintra National Park toward a dramatic natural landmark: Cabo da Roca. Prepare for one of the most marvelous views in all of Portugal!
This is the westernmost point of Continental Europe. Standing atop the imposing, 150-meter-high cliffs, you'll understand why the acclaimed Portuguese poet Luís de Camões described this place as: "Where the earth ends and the sea begins." It’s a powerful, windswept moment of raw, natural beauty.
Just outside Cascais lies one of the most impressive natural wonders on Portugal’s coast: Boca do Inferno. This striking rock formation was once a sea cave that collapsed, creating a dramatic chasm where waves crash with thunderous force. On stormy days, you can hear the roaring sound that gave this site its name — a spectacular display of nature’s power and beauty.
End your day in Cascais, a charming fishing village turned seaside resort. Once a favorite summer escape for European royalty, Cascais today offers a perfect mix of elegance and coastal charm. Stroll along the marina, admire the pastel-colored villas, or relax with a coffee by the beach before returning to Lisbon.
Yes, we do pick up at hotels in Lisbon's center too in case you choose that option during the booking process. Make sure that you write the correct address of your hotel or accommodation from where we should pick you up.
